Profile

Adrian König is a PhD candidate at the Institute for Private International Law and Civil Procedure (CIVPRO) at the Faculty of Law, University of Bern, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Florian Eichel. His doctoral research focuses on data-driven disputes. In September 2026, he will also join CIVPRO as a research associate. He is a co-founder of TSCHERAKON, a technology start-up focused on the research and development of advanced AI solutions for the legal sector.

Alongside his academic work, König operates an independent legal research and project-support practice based in Zurich. He advises a select group of business clients on matters requiring in-depth legal analysis and structured project work. He also teaches legal subjects as a lecturer for Delta Group AG in Zurich and is currently preparing for the Zurich bar examination. Previously, he worked as a litigation trainee with an internationally recognised dispute resolution specialist and gained experience at several leading Swiss business law firms.

König has an interdisciplinary academic background spanning law, business administration, corporate finance, economics and technology. He completed his Master of Law in 2024 magna cum laude and subsequently obtained a Master of Science in Business Administration with a special qualification in Corporate Finance from the University of Bern, graduating insigni cum laude. He also holds a Certificate of Advanced Studies in International Law and Economics, awarded in 2024.

During his studies, König pursued law and business administration in parallel, completing a substantial academic workload while publishing articles in established Swiss legal journals and contributing to several academic and professional institutions.

Beyond legal practice and academia, König has founded and managed several entrepreneurial and organisational projects. He contributes to OpenCaseLaw and selected legal-technology initiatives. He founded and formerly served as president of the Academic Surf Club Switzerland, which has grown into one of Switzerland’s largest student organisations, with more than 1’000 members. He also established and managed the Academic Surfcamp, bringing together approximately 200 participants from major Swiss universities over two weeks each year, and co-founded Switzerland’s first student surfing championships.

König’s professional and academic trajectory is complemented by a background in competitive sport and other demanding practical environments. He is a multiple Swiss national champion in Taekwondo and has achieved several international placements across Europe. A complete overview is available in his list of honours and awards. He currently trains primarily in mixed martial arts, kickboxing and CrossFit. Earlier work as a private ski instructor in Laax and in private security further developed his resilience, client focus and ability to perform under pressure. Outside his professional activities, he remains an active freestyle skier and surfer.
